The S2S TANOY Model
Five pillars. One pathway. From the street to the scholar's seat.
S2S Foundation's work is organised around five interlocking pillars. Each targets a critical dimension of need. Together, they form a comprehensive, evidence-based pathway from street life to stability, education, and self-reliance.
Poverty, trauma and educational exclusion don't operate in isolation - so our response doesn't either. Each pillar reinforces the next: a family reunited supports a child who learns; a child who heals is ready to build a skill; a young person with a skill and a voice becomes a leader for others still on the street.

Together
Community & Family - Family reunification and community strengthening programs that rebuild the social safety net every child needs - because no child heals in isolation.
No child should grow up without belonging. The Together pillar focuses on family reunification, alternative care, and community strengthening. S2S social workers locate and assess families, facilitating safe reunification or supported foster placement. Community workshops, parenting programs, and caregiver support groups rebuild local safety nets. UNICEF notes that without stable family support, traumatised children are significantly more likely to develop long-term psychological difficulties and re-enter street life (UNICEF, 2024).

Achieve
Accelerated Learning - Accelerated learning programmes that compress years of missed education into months, backed by digital literacy training and scholarship support — turning lost time into a fresh start.
Education is the most powerful and enduring pathway out of poverty. One in five of the world's out-of-school childrenlives in Nigeria(UNICEF, 2024). S2S Foundation's Accelerated Learning Programme condenses primary education into an intensive months-long programme, enabling children to catch up and re-enter formal schooling. Digital literacy training is integrated throughout. School uniforms, textbooks, and scholarships remove the financial barriers to sustained participation.
Nuture
Health & Healing - Comprehensive healthcare and trauma-informed counselling that address both the physical and psychological wounds of street life — because recovery starts with being seen and cared for.
Street life takes a devastating toll on children's bodies and minds. Approximately 14% of adolescents worldwide have a diagnosable mental health condition (WHO, 2021), and studies in Nigeria find 10–37% experience symptoms of depression or anxiety. S2S Foundation responds with individual therapy, group art and play therapy, regular mental health screenings, and recreational activities including music, sport, and creative expression.

Overcome
Skills & Independence - Vocational training in trades such as tailoring, carpentry and mechanics, plus entrepreneurship support and systemic advocacy - building futures that don't depend on the street.
The Overcome pillar provides vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and systemic advocacy. Young people learn trades including tailoring, carpentry, farming, and mechanics. Structured apprenticeship programmes, computer literacy workshops, and start-up support enable older teens to build genuine economic independence. Overcome also drives systemic advocacy, engaging government and policymakers to challenge the structural conditions that push children onto streets.

Youth Leadership
Voice & Advocacy -Leadership training that transforms beneficiaries into community advocates, mentors and future change-makers — so today's rescued child becomes tomorrow's changemaker.
The fifth pillar transforms beneficiaries into leaders. Youth receive structured training in communication, teamwork, civic engagement, financial literacy, and public speaking. Youth councils give former street-connected children the platform to plan community projects and advocate for peers. UNICEF affirms that involving young people meaningfully in decisions that affect them dramatically improves long-term outcomes (UNICEF, 2024)
